Ravish Sachar, MD, FACC
CEO & Founder
Ravish is the founder and CEO of Contego Medical, and the inventor of Contego Medical technology. He is a practicing interventional cardiologist at UNC-REX Healthcare and the Physician-in-Chief at the North Carolina Heart and Vascular Hospital. He is an internationally recognized expert in carotid artery disease and peripheral vascular disease, and lectures frequently at national and international conferences. Ravish has authored several publications, book chapters and two textbooks in addition to having several issued and pending patents. He received his MD from the University of Southern California completed his residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and completed two fellowships, Cardiovascular Diseases & Interventional Cardiology, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
David Stern, MS
President & COO
Dave brings an extensive background in commercializing a wide variety of medical technologies in both start-up and corporate environments. Prior to joining Contego Medical as the President & COO, he was the CEO & Executive Vice President at CardioMEMS, Inc. through its acquisition and then served as the Vice President, CardioMEMS Development & Clinical Engineering for St. Jude Medical. Dave also served as the Vice President & Business Unit Manager of C.R.Bard, Inc, where he was responsible for the Balloon Expandable Stent and Peripheral Angioplasty product lines. He holds 14 issued patents and has successfully launched innovative products in cardiology, interventional radiology, gynecology and gastroenterology throughout his career. Dave received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Nathalie Greene, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Nathalie brings over 25 years of experience managing finance, administrative and strategic operations to her role as CFO at Contego Medical. Former roles include Vice President of Finance at nContact, Inc (acquired by AtriCure), Executive Director of Finance & Administration at Amphora Discovery Corp, Site Controller at Eli Lilly and Company, and Senior Associate Coopers & Lybrand Consulting. Nathalie holds a B.S. in Management & Accounting from Hartwick College and is a North Carolina licensed CPA.
Stephen MacKinnon
Chief Commercialization Officer
Steve has over 20 years of demonstrated success in medical device commercialization. Prior to joining Contego Medical, he was the Vice President of Sales for Devoro Medical (acquired by Boston Scientific). Other leadership roles include Vice President of Sales for Intact Vascular (acquired by Philips), Vice President of Sales for Neuronetics, Inc. (successful IPO, Jun 2018), Vice President of Sales for AccessClosure (acquired by Cardinal Health, Inc.). Steve holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Mitchell J. Silver, D.O., FACC, FSVM, RPVI
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Silver brings extensive experience as a renowned interventional cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist managing the full spectrum of arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases. Prior to joining Contego, he was at OhioHealth Heart and Vascular in Columbus, Ohio where he was the Director of the Center for Critical Limb Care and Endovascular Research. Dr. Silver founded the Cornwell Center for Cardiovascular and Diabetes Care at Ohio University where he was an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine. He served as the national principal investigator (PI) for the FLAME study, the largest prospective study of interventional treatment in high-risk pulmonary embolism. His prolific contributions to the field include over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters which include carotid artery atherosclerotic plaque progression, and the endovascular management of deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Dr. Silver is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Vascular Medicine.
Elizabeth Saylors, MS
Vice President of Medical Affairs
Elizabeth has over 20 years of clinical research and clinical affairs experience. Prior to joining Contego Medical, she was the Director of Clinical Research (Interventional Cardiology) at WakeMed Heart & Vascular. Elizabeth has authored several publications in the field of carotid and coronary intervention. She holds a B.S. in Biology & Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her M.S. in Biomedical Science from Eastern Virginia Medical School.
James Clossick
Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
Jim brings over 35 years of experience to his role of Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining Contego Medical, he served as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Engineering at OrbusNeich Medical, and was a Director at Cordis Corporation. He holds two issued patents. Jim received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Richard Spencer
Vice President of Clinical Affairs
Rich has 25 years of experience in the cardiovascular space, providing an abundance of expertise in clinical research and trial management. Prior to coming to Contego, Rich led clinical affairs at privately-held Svelte Medical Systems, bringing a Class III drug-eluting coronary stent from concept to commercial approval in Europe, Japan and the US. He previously worked at privately-held companies in endovascular surgery, biologics and structural heart and at Cordis Corporation / Johnson & Johnson. Rich received a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University, a J.D. from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
