Director, Medical Education

Location: Remote or Raleigh, NC

The Director of Medical Education will provide strategic leadership and vision for the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive Physician and Commercial Training and Education programs and resources in support of Contego’s products within the United States, with a focus on carotid and peripheral disease states.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with US commercial leadership and cross-functional leaders to align on business objectives and meet the education needs of physicians and field forces, particularly in the context of carotid and peripheral disease management.
  • Collaborates with commercial leadership and other cross functional leaders to align on business objectives in order to meet education needs of Physicians and field sales employees.
  • Partner with key stakeholders for curriculum development, including marketing managers, reimbursement experts, to create impactful programs tailored to meet learning objectives.
  • Lead project management, development, and review of high-quality internal and external educational content and curriculum, in alignment with education strategy priorities.
  • Identify US education priorities and plans based on strategic initiatives and regional educational needs specific to carotid and peripheral disease.
  • Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to identify education and training needs to foster strong relationships.
  • Serve as the primary contact for educational resource providers within the US, negotiating contracts and services.
  • Maintain professional relationships with key US physicians, consultants, vendors, and colleagues, and stay updated on internal and external best practices related to education and training.
  • Manage the expense budget for Physician and Commercial education activities within the Contego organization, with an emphasis on compliance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in a role focused on education development and delivery in the US (8 years with a Master’s Degree).
  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry, with expertise in content and curriculum development following Adult Learning Principles, with a specific focus on carotid and peripheral disease states.
  • Experience in physician and sales rep certification, knowledge retention, and measurement.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Previous people management experience.
  • Training experience.
  • Specific experience in curriculum and education content development in cardiovascular and peripheral disease and treatment.
