Sr. VP, Medical Affairs

The Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, working closely with our clinical research, medical affairs, sales, marketing and regulatory compliance staff, will play a pivotal role in leading our company’s medical education strategy in the United States. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Sr. VP of Medical Affairs will be responsible for providing medical expertise to our customers and sales staff to support Contego’s product commercialization efforts.

Responsibilities:

Medical Education Strategy

  • Develop and execute medical education plans to support product launches, education and training of physicians and field sales staff.
  • Serve as an expert internally and externally, providing guidance, training, and support to stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and regulatory teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and medical societies to advance company objectives and enhance scientific credibility.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals and healthcare providers to gather insights, address medical inquiries, and support educational activities.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing talent, promoting professional growth and excellence within the organization.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and accountability mechanisms to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in medical education, clinical research, medical affairs, or related fields within the medical device industry, with a focus on vascular interventions or cardiovascular diseases.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in designing, implementing, and managing medical education programs.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, including FDA regulations governing medical device commercialization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including KOLs, healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex medical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent to achieve organizational objectives.
