Peripheral Balloon Angioplasty System with Integrated Embolic Protection
The Vanguard IEP System represents a significant leap forward in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. It has been specifically developed for treatment of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), while simultaneously capturing and retrieving embolic particles that may be dislodged. This breakthrough technology is designed for treatment of PAD while simultaneously protecting the patient from potentially catastrophic embolic events, all achieved without increasing the time and complexity of the procedure.
The Vanguard IEP System contains an angioplasty balloon and an integrated distal filter. Contego Medical’s IEP technology allows the physician, for the first time, to open the filter to the size appropriate for each patient’s individual anatomy, which is designed to improve capture efficiency of embolic particles.
INDICATIONS FOR USE: The Vanguard IEP® Peripheral Balloon Angioplasty System with Integrated Embolic Protection is indicated for percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) and capture and removal of embolic material during angioplasty, for the femoral, iliac, popliteal and profunda arteries. The System is not intended for use in the renal, cerebral, coronary or carotid vasculature.
